Synthesis and applications of graphene and graphene oxide (Prof C S Lee)

After C60 and carbon nanotube, graphene is the third type of carbon nanostructures discovered. Its novel properties have drawn much research interest. In the past few years, graphene and graphene oxide have been reported to have applications in many areas ranging from optoelectronic devices to biomedical applications. This project aims to develop new and improved synthesis approaches of graphene and graphene oxide with enhanced and controlled properties. The synthesized materials would be applied for different applications (e.g. in OLED, organic solar cell, catalysis, lithium ion battery, drug delivery, etc according to the studentís interest).
